Do You Want to Give a Better Back Massage?

Everybody would like to get a massage but not everybody is okay giving them to someone else. We're afraid of accidentally hurting the other person. Additionally, it's possible to feel apprehensive that the massage might not be good enough. We are afraid that the individual getting the massage isn't oging to like what we're doing. The good news is that you can learn how to give a terrific massage whenever you want to do so. Here's information on how you too can give anybody an amazing back massage.

To start off, see to it that the person is comfortable while he lies down. They must be laying down on a surface that is both firm and soft. You don't need a table but see if you can have them lie down on the bed. If they are on your floor, place a mat or a couple of soft blankets or towels so that they will feel more at ease. If the person chooses to remain clothed (and many will), be sure that the shirt they are wearing is made of soft material so there won't be as much friction or scratching.

Begin with a couple of standard rubbing. In a slow manner, and using the whole flat side of both of your hands, rub up from the lower back area and toward the neck. Put some pressure into this rub but dont start with the full on massage yet. Begin at the lower back area and slide your hands up, along either side of the spine toward the neck then across the shoulders and back down the back. As you do this, make each "loop" of the back smaller so that you are sure to get to all areas of the back.

Try to use the heels of your hands to generate good and pointed pressure. Using the heels of your palms to generate pressure, start out working in tiny circles at the base of the back on either side of the spinal column and then work those tiny circles out toward the person's sides, up a little bit and then back across to the spinal column and upward until you have massaged the entire back.

Sit on one of the sides of the person you are massaging. Next, with one hand on top of yor other hand, thrust into the back with your fingers. Begin at the spinal column and thrust steadily and with good pressure across the back away from the spinal column and then lightly sort of move your hands back across the back toward the spinal column and move up. Repeat this process as you try to work up the back and then repeat on the person's other side.

Knead the spinal column. Beginning with the base of the back, work your way up each of the sausage like sinews on either side of the spinal column by rubbing in tiny circles with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Massage each little node at least five times to create some friction before moving on to the next. Work all the way up one side of the spinal column and then rub the other side.

One of the things to bear in mind as you work through these massage techniques is that it is a good idea to re-relax your person between each portion of the massage you're giving. This means that after using one technique, perform the basic rub that you used at the beginning of the massage for a couple of minutes.
